La Braderie de mode québécoise

The Braderie de mode québécoise is a Montreal fashion event which is well known, well established and well attended: begun in 1994 with some 50 customers, the sale now attracts more than 8,000 people over 4 days. From 35 to 40 fashion designers participate in each edition. Participating designers work in the average and top line range. Nevik, Muse, Dubuc Style, Nadya Toto, Marie Saint-Pierre, Shan, Envers, Michel Desjardins, Jean Airoldi, Sheila Dassin, Silikon, Rudsak, Lili-les-bains, Sylvie Germain, Geneviève Dostaler, Bodybag, Old River, Dino Gaspari, participate in the sale regularly and successfully.

The mostly female clientele consists of business women and professionals with above average incomes as well as students, young professionals and tourists. Customers are usually well educated and into fashion trends. With the addition of well known men's fashion labels two years ago, a number of men have become ardent followers of the event.

This fashion event was undertaken for two main reasons: to allow designers to sell their surplus inventory and samples and to allow the public to purchase designer clothing at reduced prices and, at the same time, discover Quebec fashion. Designers are often present, thus allowing both fashion customers and creators to get to know each other.

You will find everything at the sale: women's and men's ready to wear, children's fashions, coats, sportswear, leather, fur, bathing suits and lingerie, causal wear, accessories (hats, jewellery, etc.). You can even find one of a kind articles, such as samples which never went into production. Rebates vary depending on the label but are usually from 50% to 80%.

The Braderie de mode québécoise in managed by La Saga Mode, a private company headed by Anne de Shalla.
